GamCare is a registered charity in Great Britain. Since 1997 we have been the leading provider of information, advice and support for the prevention and treatment of problem gambling. GamCare operate the National Gambling Helpline and offer free counselling to problem gamblers and affected others across England, Scotland and Wales.
Through our in-house Education and Prevention team, GamCare’s training portfolio includes clinical training for counsellors, health professionals, education and prevention programs for researchers, educators, policy makers, gambling industry professionals and international government regulators.
GamCare training is specifically designed to:
- Improve understanding of the psychology of gambling behaviour
- Increase awareness of the social impact of gambling
- Provide the necessary skills to address the needs of those adversely affected by problem gambling through education, treatment and prevention
GamCare offers bespoke training to the gambling industry on social responsibility, interaction and player protection. GamCare Certification is available to the industry through a fee-based contract.
GamCare’s Youth Outreach programme is designed to enable young people to access honest, accurate and relevant information about gambling and make informed choices; and to ensure professionals are aware of the impacts, signs and symptoms of a gambling problem and interact sensitively to signpost to specialist help and support if needed.
