Members are to undertake a minimum of 20 hours of CPD each year with a minimum of five hours constituting ‘formal’ CPD and the remaining 15 hours being formal or informal. If practising in the public sector, you must undertake 35 hours of CPD, 10 of which must be formal.
The IAM encourages members to log their CPD activity throughout the year to provide a structure for continuous development. Members who obtain 30 credits in the year under the framework can claim a CPD certificate from the Institute, confirming that the holder has met with the IAM’s requirements.

DM offers an accreditation scheme for CPD. This scheme requires 35 hours CPD per year. The IDM CPD Award proves the currency of your formal membership and/or qualification honorific. CIM sets a 35 hour annual target for CPD. Chartered Marketers and those applying to become chartered must complete 35 hours CPD per annum. Chartered Directors should undertake in the region of 30 hours CPD per year. Chartered Directorsbe are required to log evidence on Chartered Director Online. You should be able to provide evidence of your CPD. IoD will sample a proportion of records during each year, and may require supporting evidence, such as confirmation of course attendance.
ISMM recommends that at least 20 points of CPD be done each year to maintain existing skills and knowledge, and 40 points to keep up with most recent developments. Members should record evidence in a “Members Pack” diary. Members committee monitors records at random.

APM requires members to undertake 35 hours formal and informal CPD each year. Each individual must keep a CPD log, which the APM will audit CPD at their discretion. ‘Registered Project Professional’ (RPP) status will not be granted, if an individual fails to submit a completed CPD record for audit.
CPD is not compulsory to be a member. But it can be an alternative to management-related qualifications to join at a particular level of membership. Limited CPD support and resources available.
