IIA Continuing Professional Education (CPE)

As a member of the Chartered IIA members are required to maintain and improve their knowledge, skills and other competencies throughout their career. There CPE policy provides a framework in which to do this.

All practising voting members of the Chartered IIA are required to complete 40 points (40 hours) of CPE activity per year. Non-practising members (those in non-internal audit roles) are required to complete 20 hours of CPE activity per annum. Retired members are exempt.

Members’ CPE activity must be formally structured, with all activities:

(a)  having clear aims and objectives
(b)  enabling opportunity for reflection on activity undertaken
(c)  having sign-off by line manager/similar
