Who should attend?
8 Week Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction MBSR Course (individual or group)
You can apply to take the 8 week Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction MBSR course either as a first experience of Mindfulness, as a refresher, as an opportunity to deepen an existing mindfulness practice, or as a way to prepare for a Mindfulness Teacher Training course. The course is based on the original work of Jon Kabat-Zinn’s highly acclaimed Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme and the current programmes taught at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre, Bangor University Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice (CMRP) in the UK and around the world. Mindfulness Teacher Training Level 1 and Level 2 courses:
The International Mindfulness-based Interventions MBI Teacher training Level 1 and 2 courses are ideal for physicians, nurses, health professionals, educators, human resources managers, meditation practitioners, yoga and meditation teachers and other professionals with a mind-body focus who wish to teach the 8 week Mindfulness MBSR Course or mindfulness-based approaches. It is also valuable for those who wish to integrate mindfulness into their profession or teach mindfulness in a different form such as MBCT.
The courses primarily focus on the teaching process and curriculum of the group based 8 week Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction MBSR Course, developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre and also by the Centre for Mindfulness Practice and Research CMRP Bangor University where CEO and Senior International Trainer Kathy Ward trained.
At its heart, the training will enable you to teach mindfulness in ways that can help support individuals as they learn how to use their innate resources and abilities to respond more effectively to stress, pain, illness and the challenges of life. Mindfulness Silent Retreat:
This teacher led silent retreat offers a safe and supportive environment in which to deepen and extend secular mindfulness meditation practice. It provides an opportunity to deeply tune in to our inner processes, exploring the ways we react to experience and how we might practise kindness towards our moment to moment experience and cultivate wisdom.
This retreat is specifically designed to meet the retreat needs of those on the Qualified Mindfulness Teacher Training Pathway with Mindful Academy International. Other trainees and established teachers who have taken preliminary teacher training and have taught several mindfulness-based courses and more experienced teachers wishing to deepen their connection to the core underpinnings of mindfulness as it is taught in the eight-week course are also welcome to attend.
It is also suitable for those who have taken an 8 week mindfulness course and who wish to deepen their practice (a minimum of one year's meditation experience following the 8- week course is required) No previous retreat experience is required as full teacher support is available. Pre-course and on-going mindfulness supervision is an important part of the good practice requirements for both student teachers starting out on the Teacher Training Pathway (TTP) and qualified teachers of mindfulness-based classes, workshops and courses.
