The CPD Requirements

From The Professional Bodies, Associations, and Institutes for Practitioners in the Building & Construction Industry

CHARTERED ASSOCIATION OF BUILDING ENGINEERS (CABE)

CABE Chartered Members are required to undertake 35 hours CPD a year (or 105 hours over 3 years averaging to 35 per year) and they are expected to keep a record of their CPD online. The Association's Regional Committees organize a wide range of local CPD events, networking opportunities and technical visits.

CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF BUILDING (CIOB)

The Institute recommends members a number of CPD hours to complete, but this is not compulsory. They look for evidence that members have gone through a process of further developing their needs to further knowledge. Members are best placed to know what CPD is necessary and relevant to them.

CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF HOUSING (CIH)

Chartered members are required to undertake at least 20 hours of CPD a year. All members have access to an online CPD account and are encouraged to use the service to manage their own professional development by recording CPD activity and reflecting on their own learning.

INSTITUTE OF CLERKS OF WORKS AND CONSTRUCTION INSPECTORATE OF GREAT BRITAIN (ICWCI)

All practicing members (not retired members or honorary grades) are required to carry out the ICWCI mandatory minimum of 18 hours of CPD per annum.
