Information about the CPD Standards Office- Micro-learning

Micro-learning is the newest and growing trend for the training and learning community. Developing a business strategy which includes ‘micro-learning’ concepts could really benefit or disengage your clients. We have written a Memberwise blog on the topic of micro learning and how small and large training providers can keep pace with the necessary technology for their business to deliver a high standard of learning.

Provider Spotlights:

This week we would like to put the spotlight on our members who have made great strides to get their CPD services accredited.

First up is Creative Edge who deserve a big pat on the back for becoming accredited as a CPD Centre. They now offer 150 courses ranging in styles from instructor and classroom led to virtual online. Although the assessment process was a long one to ensure each course met the required standards, Creative Edge can now say they are a leader in providing 90-minute bite-size learning modules and recognised as quality assured by prospective customers.

Becoming a CPD Centre is a new service we offer our growing membership of CPD training and learning providers. By achieving CPD Centre status, your courses ranging across your entire portfolio will be accredited and you will be globally recognised as a provider of excellent learning and training activities.

Second in the ranks is Dr Hamad Rashid, Principal Consultant at HSJ Technical who needed his company’s accreditation documents turned around quickly to gain access to a new market. Diane, Head of Membership and CPD Assessment was able to assess HSJ Technical’s courses and accredit them within one week. Diane and Dr Rashid worked closely together to ensure the assessment was straightforward and precisely matched the CPD Standards assessment criteria.

HSJ Technical made use of our 50 % extra service by which our clients can get their assessment documents turned around in a 1 week. The advantage of this service is so our members can start marketing their CPD accreditation straight away.

Third in the ranks in MPiricle who gave some helpful business advice to use Mozilla Open Badges which will help us share and upload CPD documents and records more efficiently with our members. We are currently looking into this opportunity as it may dramatically improve our systems of CPD accreditation.
