From The Professional Bodies, Associations, and Institutes for Practitioners in the Environmental Services Industry

CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF ECOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT (CIEEM)

CIEEM encourage members to raise the profile of professional ecological and environmental management and to promote the highest standards of practice for the benefit of nature and society. CIEEM has an online CPD tool where members can log and keep track of their ongoing learning. CIEEM expects members to undertake 30 hours of CPD annually, with at least 20 hours in structured learning.

CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (CIEH)

All members must undertake CPD, with the exception of associate and retired members. The CIEH stipulates CPD hours and a competency framework for members to complete annually.

INSTITUTE OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND ASSESSMENMT (IEMA)

At IEMA there is a mandatory requirement to complete regular CPD hours for annual membership renewal. It’s good practice to plan and record CPD, so the IEMA requires members to keep a record and submit it once a year.
